Kilkenny

Two salons under one roof.

The Hairdressing Academy is a working salon as well as a school. You can book with our senior stylists, or with our students at half the price while they train under supervision. Both happen in the same building, to the same standards, with the same person overseeing them.

01

The Hairdressing Salon

Full service, full price.

Cutting and styling, colour, barbering, treatments, bridal and occasion work, delivered by qualified senior stylists with years behind the chair.

02

The Hairdressing Academy

Half price, fully supervised.

Our students work on real clients from week five of their course, always under Aimee’s direct eye. You pay half the standard rate. In return you’re part of how a hairdresser learns their craft properly.

Before you leave

An educator checks every service.

The honest question about a training salon is whether you’ll walk out happy.

So every service in The Hairdressing Academy is supervised while it happens, and reviewed by an educator before you leave the chair. Nothing gets signed off because it’s finished. It gets signed off because it’s right.

The space

Built as a working salon, not a classroom with basins.

Professional styling stations, wash basins, dedicated colour preparation areas, barbering workstations and treatment areas, with a separate demonstration space for educators. Reception, seating and retail out front. Theory rooms elsewhere in the building, so the salon floor stays a salon floor.

Opening hours

We close at half five.

“I worked from nine in the morning to six in the evening and even eleven some nights when I was training. I don’t want anyone here doing that.”
Aimee Conroy

This Academy runs half nine to half five instead, because good work comes from people who aren’t running on empty. If that means fewer clients some days, that’s the trade she’s chosen to make.

How we run

A salon that isn’t wasteful.

Recycling stations, energy-efficient equipment, low-flow water fittings, responsible chemical storage, and product used properly rather than poured away. Our students learn sustainable practice as part of the course, not as an afterthought.
